the bottle chronicles

documenting mysterious bottles since 2006 (but kind of earlier, just not in blogworld).

Thursday, February 02, 2006

today marks a sad day here at the bottle chronicles. there is no bottle to be chronicled.

i repeat: there is no bottle.

this does not seem like such a landmark to those of you who have only witnessed the bottle over the course of the last month, however, to me, the chronicler, and to a few choice others, you will understand just what a sad day this is.

for the past year and a half, if not more, i have been privy to see the evolution of bottles in the last stall of the ladies' restroom in my office building. it was a 20 ounce diet coke bottle for the longest time...perhaps a year of that time. sometimes, it would be a caffeine free diet coke. occasionally, there would be a nestea with lemon, or a lemonade, and sometimes, a diet coke with lime.

the biggest and funniest evolution of bottle chronicling was the 2 liter mountain dew bottle that has appeared on this blog for the past month. each day, the bottle would be in the same location, yet in slightly different positioning.

today, however, that is gone.

who knows when the bottle will return? where is my mysterious bottle leaver? and, who decided to finally clean the bathroom enough to remove the 2 liter bottle of mountain dew?

these are questions that may never be answered.

the bottle chronicles will thus be on hiatus until these questions are resolved and i have some answers, or until another bottle graces our presence here in the office underground.

until then, i will mourn the loss.
